I’m continuing the discussion that I started the other day about color combinations in photography. Today, however, I want to broaden the scope beyond just AI-generated images. This topic is widely applicable, ranging from web design to jewelry creation, and from magazine advertising to photography itself.
To illustrate various color combinations, I will utilize images generated by Midjourney and Dall-E. For inspiration, I’ll refer to a book I picked up a few years ago, which has since become an essential guide for me: ‘Palette Perfect’ by Lauren Wager. This book caught my eye in a bookstore and piqued my curiosity.
Lauren’s book starts with a theoretical section where she lays out the fundamentals of color theory. This foundation is crucial for understanding how to seek out, find, and create effective color combinations. The title of this section, ‘Emotion, Image & Representation,’ particularly resonates with me.
